 This is a warm up drill that works on agility.  It is called a snow cone drill, because if properly executed, the cone will be totally covered with snow when the drill is done.
 
1) Players sprint to cone and execute a two-foot stop facing down ice.

 2) Players step laterally, over to blueline.

 3) Then skate backwards back to starting point.
4) After a couple of times through on one side, switch sides.
